MCB’s Employment and Labor Practice Group primarily represents companies and executives in a wide range of issues that arise out of the employer-employee and partnership relationship from hiring to termination and establishment to dissolution. The attorneys of MCB provide experienced and knowledgeable representation and believe that counseling and educating their clients can prevent or reduce the potential for litigation. When litigation is unavoidable, however, the Practice Group will respond with an aggressive defense whether the claim arises in federal or state courts, administrative agencies, or in arbitration.

The laws affecting employment and labor have been increasing in number and complexity each year. To assist our clients, the Firm counsels clients, prepares contracts and policies, and reviews employment manuals and procedures. Additionally, MCB’s Employment and Labor Practice Group defends claims involving a full range of employment issues, including hiring and firing, whistleblowing, non-competition and non-solicitation, contract negotiation, wrongful discharge, wage and hour requirements and union and management relations.

MCB represents management in all areas related to labor law, including:

  • Physician Employment Agreements

  • Partnership Disputes

  • Americans With Disabilities Act

  • Class Actions

  • Contract Negotiation

  • Employment Discrimination/Harassment

MCB believes that alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, serves as a cost-effective alternative to prolonged litigation in employment matters. The labor issues that many corporations and businesses face today may dramatically impact a corporation’s image and its economics. The attorneys of MCB provide aggressive, experienced and knowledgeable representation to their clients and believe that counseling and educating their clients can prevent or reduce the potential for litigation.

There is an epidemic of lawsuits in the state and federal courts arising from claims such as alleged discrimination, wage and hour law violations and whistleblowing. This epidemic has infected many employers including hospitals and physician groups, and the retail, hospitality and technology industries. MCB’s Employment and Labor Practice Group assists clients by providing practical advice and counseling to avoid potential employment litigation where possible and to defend it when necessary.
