Ruth A. Ragan is a Partner at Martin Clearwater & Bell LLP. At MCB, she defends our clients in medical malpractice and professional liability claims as well as employment and labor matters.

Ms. Ragan has significant experience in the insurance industry. She has handled claims nationwide for AIG, Professional Indemnity Agency (a subsidiary of Houston Casualty Company) and Freedom Specialty Insurance Company (a subsidiary of Nationwide) under primary duty to defend, umbrella and excess policies, in a variety of legal areas including employment practices liability, personal injury, intellectual property, and professional liability. As a claims attorney, Ms. Ragan represented insurance companies and was an active participant in mediations and settlement negotiations in federal and state court actions.

Ms. Ragan is a member of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association.  She received her B.A. from Ohio University, her M.S.W. from Fordham University and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.  She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District Court of New Jersey.
